Q. What do you expect you to learn by going to the IT Fair?
A. Rather saying "learning", I would like to see(discover) some interesting stuff.
And by seeing interesting stuff, I might learn as well.
Q. What do you expect to buy? To try out? To get for free?
A. I don't really want to buy anything. I'm not that into electronics
(Though I am pretty interested in the fair)
Get for free? I don't think there will be anything like that.

What's new?
What have you learned about IT since last class?
I learned that Photoshop CS4 is so much different to Photoshop 7.
The windows and the layout of the program.
(or Photoshop CS, the newest version I've ever tried)

Is blogging a good thing?
Q: Is blogging a good thing?
Yes, because you can have your own personal space,
to express your ideas to the rest of the world.
Also, there are people who are willing to stop by and listen to your thoughts,
and maybe leave comments!

Silicon Shield
NO we don't want products manufactured in/from China,
because MADE IN CHINA is bad!
"Buying something that's MADE IN CHINA means supporting it's regime" -L. Parker
Means you're supporting their communism, their economy!

AST recreation
My first impression on hearing about the new AST recreation center are…
Correction: It isn't really a "recreation" of AST. It's adding a new building and in campus.
Anyway, it's great that there is going to be a better theater.
The theater we are using right now is obviously not great--we don't even have a backstage!!
But I don't think the time the school planned is enough.
2~3 months is simply not enough for a storng building.
.
PS. I talked about this with my mom, and she said 2~3 months is actually enough.

At home.
I use Photoshop at home. And I still use the old Photoshop 7.0
My dad set it up for me, so I don't know exactly where it's from.
But I still think I'm a "pirate", because I'm a pirate, and a pirate is free!
"You are pirate, and a pirate is free!"

Internet Explorer 8
Question:
Why should I upgrade the computer lab computers to Internet Browser 8, if I already have Firefox installed?
Because, this is a school, it is a public area. Some people like IE, and some people prefer FireFox. When they browse the internet, they can use the browser they are comfortable with.

Taiwanese Company ppts
I like Michelle Lin's presentation the most :)
T'was very attractive, and flashy.
It was mostly pictures, and berry tiny bit of words.
Simple. Nice.

Some info about CHIMEI
The CHIMEI Group has companies in numerous areas (even food!!)
but what it focuses on the most is LCDs. And is also what it's famous for.
The group calls itself No. 1 in acrylic sheet manufactoring.
CHIMEI is only in Taiwan Stock Exchange... according what my research results...
Can't find out its flow beacuse I can't view the graph. Technical problems...
Here is a recent (September 12th, 2009) article about CHIMEI in Taipei Times :)

Special Assignment
"If there was one thing that I could change at AST, it would be..."
It would be the mosquitos. They've been driving me crazy for the third year now.
If only I could actually get rid of them... I can't just spray a massive amount of pesticides with disorder and madness.
And here's the Moon Festival picture.
(Not sure if this counts, but anyway.)

OLPC
I think it is definitely a great idea to let kids in developing countries have access to the world.
That way they would be able to be more close to other privileged children who have easy access to the world. they wouldn't be left behind.
But I think OLPC is still making its way to success. There is no exact result to judge whether it is a success or a failure. But there is exact proof that the project has obstacles (competitors).
